T-Mobile Idea Lab

T-Mobile Idea Lab was an internal innovation practice exploring what connected commerce and service experiences could become before a conventional product brief existed. The work used visual narratives, journey maps, prototypes, and responsive concepts to make early opportunities discussable.

Context

The reviewed record shows an incubation setting rather than a conventional production team. Concepts could begin with an opportunity, be shaped into a testable experience, and potentially move toward recommendation or handoff. That framework is context for the engagement, not evidence that every initiative moved through every stage.

Operating model

The work moved from opportunity intake through assessment, prioritization, concept development, prototyping, evaluation, and possible recommendation or handoff. The public diagram below is an original abstraction of that lifecycle; it intentionally omits internal governance, scoring, and measurement details.

Contribution

My contribution crossed service design, journey mapping, interaction design, responsive product concepts, and experience storytelling. I was brought in for journey-mapping experience and worked with another designer on Google Shopping exploration. I also designed and assembled the SAMSE storyboard deck, and designed responsive concepts while drafting the internal Idea Lab team site. These contribution details are designer testimony, not inferred from uncredited screens.

Selected initiatives

Google Shopping to Store

This concept explored a stronger T-Mobile presence within Google Shopping, including store-specific context and alternate paths into Directions, Chat, and Appointment experiences. The visible branches show a shared entry model, not evidence of implementation, testing outcomes, or launch.

Apple Business Chat

Apple Business Chat explored a branded iOS messaging experience that could combine self-service and human-assisted support. The reviewed proposal and journey evidence include appointments, prescreening, payment, onboarding, and continued support as future-state moments. They remain concept evidence, not a claim of an operating service.

SAMSE

SAMSE, or Siri Assisted Messaging Sale Entry, used a storyboard to communicate an end-to-end customer narrative from voice-triggered entry into messaging through later service moments. It overlaps with ABC in conversational commerce themes, but the available evidence does not establish that the two were one product or the same delivery path.

Internal Idea Lab team site

I designed responsive concepts for an internal team site intended to explain the practice, showcase initiatives, and invite employee engagement or idea submission. The public illustration is a reconstruction rather than a reproduction of the internal concept, and it does not imply that the site launched.

What the work demonstrates

The strongest signal from this engagement is the ability to translate an ambiguous opportunity into a coherent experience model. The work connects customer goals, service handoffs, interaction states, and presentation-ready storytelling without mistaking a future-state concept for a shipped product.

Limitations

The available archive does not establish launch status, commercialization, measured business outcomes, or ownership of every uncredited artifact. Material not cleared for public use informed this reconstruction but is not included here.
