About / Q10UX

Senior UX for systems-heavy products, believable prototypes, and ideas that need proof before polish.

I’m a senior UX / Product Designer who helps teams make complicated systems legible and buildable. My work spans Microsoft enterprise products, T-Mobile commerce, AtmosFX e-commerce and connected TV, AT&T customer journeys, Disney internal concepts, and Gates Foundation storytelling.

I design the connective tissue of complex products: the flows, states, information architecture, interaction patterns, prototypes, and validation that help people understand what a system can do. I am most useful when requirements, handoffs, or future-state ideas need to become something a team can inspect, test, and build.

Outside product work, I build and bend instruments, study visual storytelling, and keep experimenting with new ways to make complex information feel more human.

APPROACH

How I work.

See the system

I look for the machinery behind the screen: content, data, people, constraints, edge cases, and the moments where trust breaks.

Tell it cleanly

I make the map legible: flows, prototypes, specs, and the tradeoffs behind them should help a team see what to build next.

Ship with proof

The work gets strongest when design is not just a picture, but a working argument the team can inspect and improve.

BACKGROUND

What shaped it.

Career

Across systems.

My work spans enterprise, mid-market, small-business, and startup contexts, including Microsoft, T-Mobile, AtmosFX, AT&T, Disney, and nonprofit-facing publishing work.

The throughline is bridging technical capability with human-centered product direction across web, mobile, television, media, and service systems.

What Sets Me Apart

Proof before polish.

I prefer fully interactive prototypes fed by believable data because static mockups rarely expose the edge cases that decide whether a product actually works.

Across ecommerce, enterprise, and concept work, that has meant designing around catalogs, dashboards, pricing structures, content libraries, and awkward states before launch.

Sabbatical

AI and new tools.

A recent sabbatical gave me room to go deeper on AI-assisted workflows, rapid prototyping, and scripts that automate foundational UX tasks.

The useful part is practical: less setup drag, more early exploration, clearer handoff, and stronger evidence when a team needs to move.

Hobbies

Signal and feel.

Outside product work, I build and bend instruments, study visual storytelling, and obsess over clear information design.

Circuit-bent synths, Michel Gondry, Spike Jonze, Edward Tufte, paragliding over Seattle, and karaoke all feed the same habit: tracing signal, rhythm, and meaning.

Signal

Find Signal.

I start by separating signal from noise: what the business needs, where users are getting blocked, what the system is hiding, and which decisions are worth making now.

Structure

Hold Together.

The strongest outcomes usually come from coherent systems, not isolated screens. I look for the relationships between flows, components, content, motion, data, and delivery constraints.

Delivery

Surface Edge Cases.

I like using live-ish data, believable artifacts, and production-shaped prototypes so teams can argue with something concrete before engineering spends cycles on the wrong thing.

Evidence

Keep Proof Close.

Outcomes, rationale, and artifacts stay linked so product teams can follow the decision path without losing the proof behind it.

Tools

The imagination is your playground.
